It is also the home of the Haras, the centre for Brittany's working horses, an interesting place to visit. Smaller towns also provide charm such as medieval Moncontour with its August festival and 'mardivertissements' and petit cite de caractère Jugon les Lacs with its Festilacs and a host of water sports on the lake. To the west there is St Brieuc, administrative hub of the area and a major town with shopping, restaurants and major transport links.
The area is served by airports at Dinard, St Brieuc, Rennes and further afield by Nantes and Brest. Ferries arrive at St Malo daily and the ports of Roscoff, Caen and Cherbourg are in easy driving distance - this is useful if you want to rent a property to UK clients. The area is well served by the TGV with stops in Rennes, St Brieuc, Lamballe and St Malo.
